Video: Two weeks on the sunny side of the planet

Thursday, 19 January 2017

I’ve decided – I will never be a YouTuber. I edited this video for over 4 hours on Saturday and it took me 4 days to finally manage to get it to upload to YouTube!

The first file I saved was 6 GB. As if that would ever work.

I took down the quality and the second file was over 600 MB. Nope, no go.

I cut out a minute of clips and took down the resolution as well as quality and ended up with a 300 MB video.

This one uploaded but doesn’t look as sharp as the original. If only I had more energy left for this little project!

When I looked at all the videos I had taken while in Australia I realised that I had not actually taken any touristy shots of Sydney or Canberra or any of food! What the heck was I thinking. At least I did take a lot of photos as well and I’m sure you’ve all caught up with them over on my Instagram account. If you haven’t, I don’t know what you’re thinking – Instagram is where all the fun is these days. Seriously, get yourself an account asap. And follow me ;)

Despite it being so freaking time consuming, it was fun making this video. I learned a lot about how I should film and how I should talk (or rather – that I should not talk at all ;) and I learned quite a few things about iMovie and YouTube as well.

If the spirit strikes me to do another video, I hope it won’t take me so bloody long. I just need to figure out what is the magic length, resolution and quality for YouTube videos to upload in less than 24 hours and still look decent.

No ma pole su häält päriselus ju üldse kuulnud ning kui sa kirjutasid, et sul on mehine hääl, siis ma kujutasin ette nagu päris mõmmisevat mehe häält :P Aga tegelikult pole ju!
