Ok 2016, let’s do this.
Being away from the real world (and quite literally as Australia is FAR away from my current real world), I pondered blogging quite a bit. So often harping on about sensible long-term changes to your diet and exercise seems so pointless as the masses are still fed article after article, book after book about special quick-fix diets and exercise plans that target “problem areas” or “get you a six-pack in 3 weeks”. The world is drowning in BS! Have you heard about the latest “miracles” of the Pegan diet and the Sirt food diet?
Seriously. Some days I have no strength left to talk about these things anymore.
Getting healthy isn’t that complicated – you’ve got to find a way (or two, or three) to move that you enjoy (yes, it is possible, despite reading in the latest fitness column in the Evening Standard that “But obviously, exercising is a miserable pursuit.”) AND you have to gradually try to cut down on the amount of processed food you eat (includes most supermarket bread & breakfast cereals by the way). Read this awesome post by Gymbags & Gladrags about how to start eating healthily for a bit more information ;)
So do I keep on blogging? I don’t know right now for sure.
I have to say the type of blogging that has always appealed to me and that I did for years and years when I was a mummy blogger is just to ramble about my life. Health and fitness blogs these days are all so freaking scientific and professional though… But then again – I’m never going to be a professional blogger so maybe I should just forget about everyone else and write whatever the heck I want, hoping someone other than my mother will find it useful/interesting.
Thoughts, people? If I just wrote about my eating, my exercising (and that will include LOT of Crossfit stuff), the major daily juggling act of fitness/work/mothering and throwing in an occasional photo of me in a bikini (because I’m turning 40 this year and if I don’t throw in these photos now and again now, then WHEN? ;) – would that be enough to keep you visiting?
