I’m 8 days into this year’s 12 Days of Crossfit. That means I have been doing Crossfit for 8 days straight. I’m a bit sore but not as sore as I was the first one or two years I did it. It’s a bit crazy trying to fit in Crossfit into every single day, including Saturday and Sunday but once a year I do it and I love it.
My hands are a torn from 4 places from hundreds of pull ups I’ve done (literally) and my delts are so sore that no one is allowed to hug me right now, but I’m loving this crazy challenge.
This morning I put on my coat and rrrrrrriiiiippp – the lining around my shoulders ripped to bits. Crossfit is indeed an expensive habit and not because the sessions cost a lot, they don’t, but because you make these amazing new muscles which don’t fit into your clothes and you constantly have to shop for new stuff :D
After this morning’s “active recovery workout” Jerry (1 mile run, 2km row, 1 mile run) I headed to my annual medical and my body fat clocked in at 18%. Considering I’d had about a liter of water beforehand, I think realistically it’s not under 20% but when I started Crossfit 3 years ago it was over 26% so – progress!
Tonight I have another work Christmas party, tomorrow I have the little kid’s Christmas concert and a Crossfit Christmas dinner, Wednesday night I have to finish packing and Thursday right after work we are flying off to Australia. So extremely exciting as I’m homesick for Australia a lot. There are a lot of good things about living in London but my heart still hasn’t left Australia.
Oh and I have to do some Christmas shopping sometime between now and getting on the plane.
