I’m not English and I don’t really drink regular tea. Once in a blue moon in the office I might and now that I’ve lived in London for almost a decade I might even put a dash of milk in it. I tried it a few months ago and it wasn’t actually too weird.
I love herbal tea though, especially peppermint and liquorice. The latter is a strange favourite for me because until I was well into my 30-s I couldn’t stand the taste of liquorice (or aniseed in Asian food).
Because we only have herbal tea in the house, every once in a while we write in all caps in your shopping list: NORMAL TEA FOR ENGLISH PEOPLE. I don’t want to see the sad face of another guest who hears that we don’t have any tea :(
But back to “non-normal” tea – and I mean it in the nicest possible way :) – several weeks ago I was sent a gorgeous hamper of 6 flavours of YogiTea – they have various combinations of liquorice, cardamon, ginger, cinnamon, cocoa shells, fennel – can’t you just SMELL the aromas already?
This stuff is so up my alley (and I keep sniffing the tea bags for the longest time before I actually make my tea). Usually the trouble with a lot of herbal teas (especially fruity ones ) is that they smell amazing but the taste is very watery and disappointing.
That does not apply to these babies:
The smell is intense and the taste is just as intense.
As I said I have tried their liquorice tea before and I regularly buy a similar bedtime blend, so my new favourite out of the bunch is Choco – liquorice, cinnamon and a hint of chocolate. I think that box is almost empty by now :(
Good news for you is that I received one set of 6 boxes to give away! As usual, I’ll ship anywhere, just because I’m nice like that and I find giveaways that are limited to one geographic region so annoying – I have faithful readers in America, Europe AND Australia, I can’t leave anyone out.
Entering is easy, just leave me a quick comment and you’re good to go :)
