The past week was a bit hectic and annoying at work but this Saturday has been perfect – a sleep-in, followed by some bouldering, followed by lunch at Wahaca, followed some weight lifting in the back yard, followed by some Crossfit Games watching as we speak.
And the sun is shining for a change!
A perfect day.
I specifically mentioned the lunch at Wahaca because I finally, FINALLY have BOTH kids at the age where they are willing to eat something other than bland kids food. That makes me happy beyond belief. And the fact that both of them have decided that they now happily eat leafy greens.
Maybe because we watch a lot of Aussie Master Chef and My Kitchen Rules, maybe because they’re just older, but it’s so nice to go to places to eat that have something other than pizza/burgers/fries/white rice. The 10-yr old especially is trying everything and anything under the sun right now and that is so awesome.
Food and kids aside, exercise has been great this week. Went for just one run on Monday and the rest of the week was Crossfit and bouldering. The run I did was without my Garmin as I just couldn’t find it beforehand. Lots of people love running ‘naked’ i.e. without any gadgets to measure the time/distance/etc. but I don’t like it at all. I love numbers and all that jazz and I’m so glad I located my Garmin afterwards and that on Monday starts 2 weeks of testing at Crossfit. A lot of numbers are going to be recorded, I’m very excited, you can have a look here if you’re interested in what it’ll be like.
Off to chill with the boys now (and watch more Crossfit Games :)!
Have a great weekend!
A bit of barbell work in the back yard. My clean technique is so weak, I just can’t figure out how to use the hips more. A video posted by Mrs B (@mrsb_london) on
