Center Parcs Woburn - lake

I’m back from 4 days in the new Center Parcs in Woburn Forest. We had two days of gorgeous sunshine and two days of drizzle. On the sunny days we went tree trekking and geo caching (kind of like orienteering) and on the drizzly days we bowled and swam, although we swam a bit on the sunny days as well :)

Center Parcs - Woburn - Tree trekking

I did the little kids’ tree trekking route because my little one needed an adult with him. Bummer for me but he loved doing it with me. He has not done it before and was very nervous to start with but he did very well. The other kiddo who turned 10 while we were there did the harder course that finishes with a mega zip wire ride across the lake. Totally doing that one next time.

Center Parcs - Woburn - Swimming center

We spent a few hours every day at the “Subtropical Swimming Paradise”. Inside were amazing water slides and various play areas and swimming pools. Unfortunately no lap pool though. Outside were great rapids that the boys enjoyed the most so that’s where we spent at least half of our time each day.

Center Parcs - Woburn - Playground chin ups

I didn’t do any exercise as such. A few chin ups at the playground just to make sure I still can do them and lots of walking outside and stomping & sliding around in water. My legs were a bit tight when I went for my run yesterday so I can tell I should have used the holiday to stretch but I’m a bit lazy when I’m out of my routine.

How’s your week been?

P.S. I’m spending tonight at the Natural History Museum! :|  The newly 10-yr old is having his birthday party / sleepover there.

Was there for the spa this weekend. It’s much bigger than elvedens spa. Then had a bit of a wander and dinner. Seems nice from what I’ve seen

THAT’S why I’m scared of canoeing! Hopefully he/she isn’t scarred for life / scared of water activities.

May should have great weather – both playgrounds have cafes right next to them (although one is Starbucks :|) so you can enjoy your caffeine in the sun while the little ones play :)
