It’s been a while. Apologies. Life just gets in the way of blogging once in a while. Last Saturday I had dinner at the Shard, my first time in that building and the view was not bad:
It was a friend’s birthday so of course I drank wine and ate some chocolate cake. It’s a bit hard for my body to get back to ‘regular’ sugar-free eating the day after indulging but the struggle only lasts for about a day. It’s incredible how the body craves sugar so much once it gets some, but then when the sugar is ‘out of the system’ it no longer screams for it. Fascinating stuff.
Anyway, it was a great night. My lipstick and nails matched and my hair was blow-dried. Not a sight any of my friends see very often :)
Earlier on Saturday morning we went rock climbing as usual and I also took advantage of the soft mats there and worked on my handstands and headstands. My goal is to be able to do a freestanding handstand one of these days and the yoga style headstand where forearms are on the ground. That one always felt impossible but when I gave it a go it actually didn’t feel too bad, I think I’ll get there sooner rather than later. (and I know my hands have to be behind my head, I feel unstable like that so it’s something I need to work on)
On Sunday I worked on my front crawl again. MrB was supposed to take a video but that didn’t work out so you’ll have to wait until next week to see me thrashing around in the water – swimming front crawl (freestyle) is a new thing for me and even though I’m out of breath after each 25m, I’m thinking it’s another ‘impossible’ crossed off my list.
And now is another work week and Crossfit and running and all that fun :) I’ve been doing short 6km runs once a week at lunchtime and consistently do them in 27-28 minutes which is quite fast for me but I don’t feel like throwing up at the end so that means I can go faster! :P
Anyway, nothing deep & meaningful to blog about today. Sometimes it’s nice though when life just ticks along and there’s a bit of fun and sweat in every day.
