Giveaway: EQUIP waterless wash wipes aka How to get nice and clean after a race

Monday, 18 August 2014

I always carry dry clothes with me to races so I can change afterwards. It’s nice to hang out a bit after racing and dry clothes make it nicer. Despite the clean gear though, my skin remains very salty and sticky until I get to a shower, so when an opportunity arose to try out some new waterless wash products from EQUIP I got curious.

EQUIP is a new waterless wash range of pre-moistened wipes, wash mitts, protective wipes and a shampoo cap. All these products have just launched in Sainsbury’s, Boots and Tesco.

You’re probably thinking (like I was thinking) that a wet wipe is a wet wipe is a wet wipe.

Well – I tried all three wipes and they all have three great differences from regular wet wipes:

  1. they don’t have an overpowering smell
  2. they don’t leave your skin wet
  3. they are big enough and strong enough so that you can clean all your limbs with one sheet instead of 10.

I will probably be using the oversized wipes from now on (the green ones on the photo). I’ll use them after races but will also pack them for other situations. Situations involving little children, for example. These things clean up body parts really efficiently and fast, they do not drip and are not fiddly to use because of their size and texture. Kids hate when you rub their faces with a small wet wipes a million times (especially if it involves Nutella).

I also tried the waterless shampoo cap but that one was not so nice. It left my hair feeling like it does after I use dry shampoo – sort of clean looking but really heavy. I don’t like dry shampoo so I wasn’t surprised that I don’t really like this wet version either. My curly hair can survive without washing for a few days, lets say in a camping situation, so I’m sticking with just the wipes for now.

But thinking about camping, we ARE actually going camping for the first time next weekend! Good I have a stash of these super wipes ready to be packed!

And before you roll your eyes and think “Did she just write a very enthusiastic post about WET WIPES?!?!”, you have a chance to try them out. If you live in the UK (sorry, giveaway only available for UK residents), enter via the Rafflecopter below and next time you’re racing, camping or out and about with little people, you’ll thank me ;)

I would carry in my car. My wet wipes dry out after so much time. Since these are dry, there should be no issue.

I’d use it for the run commute to work as work doesn’t have showers so i always home home instead.
